The Association for Finnish Work has awarded Lahti-based Stala Corporation’s Seven worktops and backsplashes by the Key Flag symbol in recognition of a product made in Finland. The product family consist of custom-made worktops and backsplashes made of stainless steel.
Stala Corporation, STAinless LAhti, was founded in 1972, when the company's first products were worktops, and now, almost 50 years later, the development continues. Today, worktops are mainly custom-made, which enables quick installation on site, durability in use and, in general, efficient utilization of materials.
The main raw material for Stala's worktops and wall panels is stainless steel manufactured by Outokumpu, with a world-class recycling rate of up to 90%. In addition to the high proportion of recycled materials, the responsibility of stainless steel products is enhanced by the products' really long life time and complete recyclability after its long use.
In 2019, Stala was the first in the world to launch laser-patterned StalaTex products for Seven worktops and backsplashes. The first StalaTex collection was designed by Harri Koskinen. Stala's development work has propelled the product group to growth of up to more than 20% over the last four years, and the growth curve is constantly upwards as StalaTex becomes more common in both project construction and individual consumer kitchen projects.
The Key Flag is a sign of Finnish work. The symbol can be awarded to a product that has been made in Finland. In addition, the right to use Key Flag Symbol can be awarded to products with a minimum domestic content of 50 percent of its break-even cost. The domestic content of the Seven product family is over 80%.

Custom-made worktops can be designed by anyone with the Stala Designer design program, with more than a million variations that can be easily and quickly conceived. The schedule from order to product arrival in the Nordic countries is a maximum of 10 working days. So Stala's operations can be described as very efficient in its own market area”, says Pasi Kallio, CEO of Stala.
The Key Flag symbol is very well known. According to a study conducted by the Association for Finnish Work, practically all Finnish consumers and business executives know the Key Flag symbol. The majority of Finns (75 %) also state that the Key Flag symbol has a positive impact on purchasing decisions.
